Capturing Clips with Powder
Powder's AI is trained to capture and clip the most impactful moments in your gameplay sessions and streams, such as emotionally charged moments, thought-provoking conversations, clutch plays, amazing kills, awe-inspiring wins, and everything in between.
Step 4: Choose the game you were playing from the list. If your game is not on the list choose “ My game is not listed” and choose the language. Then click on “Analyze”.
Step 5: Wait a few minutes as Powder downloads and analyzes your gameplay recording or streaming session, detecting your best in-game and emotion-based highlights automatically, creating multiple clips for you to choose from. This is a great time to browse Reddit or make a sandwich.
Step 6: After the analysis, you can select the clips you like. In the “Events” box under “Suggested clips,” you can update the clips that are being presented to you in real-time by selecting from the options that are listed in the “Video”, “Audio”, or “Other” dropdown menu. You can also use the smart keyword search feature to instantly locate every specific word or catchphrase you said across your gameplay session or stream.
Step 7: Adding the clips to “Selected clips”. After choosing the clips you like, click on the “+ Add” button in front of each clip you want to add to the “Selected clips” section.
Step 8: Change the length of the selected clips. In the “Selected clips” tab, you can easily cut out unwanted parts of your clips, or add back in crucial context with intuitive trim and extend sliders in the picture below.
Step 9: Saving the selected clips. Once you have finalized your clip's length, you can save them by clicking on the “Save selected clips” button and moving them to the “Clips” section of the app for further editing.
Editing Your Clips
The Clips Section: Prepping Clips for Sharing
The clips section in the NAV bar is where you can find all your selected clips and edit them further.
Step 10: Change the clip from horizontal to vertical. Automatically transform your clips from 16:9 to 9:16 aspect ratios with one click, and share your best gaming moments with friends or on platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. To do this simply choose a clip and click on the “9:16” or "16:9" button on the right. You can further add layers to your clip by clicking on the “Edit layout” button.
Step 11: Adding layers. After clicking on “Edit layout” as shown in the previous image a new screen would open as shown in the image below. Here you can capture content from the horizontal view and layer it in a new vertical view of the clip. This can include key elements such as the main gameplay, face cam, health bar, mini-map, and more. Save your layout as a template for future use.
Step 12: Using the video editor. Powder offers a powerful, in-built video editor for effortless editing. To use the video editor, simply select the clips you want to work with by clicking the small grey box at the top right of each clip, which will add a number that assigns the sequence in which they will be exported for editing, and then click on the “Create new project” button.
After you are inside the video editor you can do & use the following:
- Clipping Tool: Use the clipping tool to rearrange or delete parts of your clips. Drag the timeline indicator to the desired point, click the scissors icon, and make your adjustments.
- Manual Montage Maker: Create dynamic video montages of your best gaming moments by stitching together several clips. Add your creative touch, edit parts of the clips using the clipping tool, set the sequence they should play in, and click "Generate Montage".
- Editing Captions: Add and edit captions to your clips in two easy steps. Click the “captions” button, add Powder’s auto-generated captions, and edit them as needed.
Step 13: Automated Montages. For even quicker results, use Powder's automated montage feature. Select two or more clips, click “Create an Automated Montage,” choose between vertical and horizontal formats, and your montage will be ready in seconds.
